The Northwestern Center for Water Research, Israel Innovation Project (IIP) and MEF University (Istanbul, Turkey) co-organized the Seventh Annual Symposium on Water in Israel and the Middle East. From Northwestern Now - The U.S.-Israel Collaborative Water-Energy Research Center (CoWERC), founded three years ago by Northwestern University and Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, is looking to remedy the global water crisis through innovation. Research coming out of CoWERC includes new technology to capture the nutrients in wastewater, while repurposing the cleaned water for use in agriculture.
