Webinar Recording: Seventh Annual Symposium on Water in Israel and the Middle East
July 19, 2023
Transboundary Disputes and Collaborative Solutions
The Northwestern Center for Water Research, Israel Innovation Project (IIP) and MEF University (Istanbul, Turkey) co-organized the Seventh Annual Symposium on Water in Israel and the Middle East.
The Symposium was held on May 10 and 11, 2023, at the Ford Design Center on Northwestern University’s Evanston campus.
This year, the Symposium featured international experts who gave lectures on topics related to water transboundary challenges and solutions in Israel, the Middle East, and beyond. It sought to academically explore the complex question of transboundary water issues in the Middle East, through expert presentations by leading scholars in the field. The presentations were followed by discussions about the origin and evolution of water disputes in these river basins and collaborative advances and innovative initiatives for cooperation, which served to highlight why water plays such an important role in the international relations of the riparian countries in the Nile, Jordan, and the Euphrates-Tigris River basins.
The recordings of the lectures can now be viewed on the IIP YouTube Channel.
