"Israel Behind the Scenes" with Barak Heymann

On March 4, 2024, the Northwestern Israel Innovation Project and the Chicago Festival of Israeli Cinema presented “Israel Behind the Scenes”, a talk featuring award-winning Israeli filmmaker Barak Heymann. Barak shared clips of many of his documentaries showcasing humans from all backgrounds and their lived experiences. He also referenced the October 7 attack which has traumatized both Israelis and Palestinians and shared the painful reality in which he lives and what he believes is needed for this turbulent war to give way to a better and more humane future.
